Meet the Doctors and team of White Oaks Dental in Kalamazoo
Our Dentists
Dr. Andrew Smith
Dr. Smith is originally from Portage and attended Portage Northern High School. He then went to Michigan State University where he received B.S. degrees in Physiology and Human Biology. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S) degree at the University of Michigan, where he met his future wife. After graduating, he worked in Toledo as an associate dentist. He enjoys woodworking, playing the drums, gardening, and his dogs.
Dr. Stephanie Keil
Dr. Keil grew up in Ann Arbor and completed her undergraduate studies at Michigan State University, earning a B.S. in Psychology. She then continued her education at the University of Michigan, where she received her D.D.S. After graduating, she worked in Ann Arbor as an associate dentist. Dr. Keil enjoys traveling, crafting, hiking, and spending time with her dogs. Dr. Keil and Dr. Smith welcomed their first baby in the Fall of 2021.
Our Hygienists
Noreena- Hygienist
I was born and raised in Michigan. At the age of 18, I decided I wanted to see the world, so I joined the United States Air Force, where I started my journey in the dental field. I spent a total of nine years active duty as a dental assistant and then went to Dental Hygiene school on an Air Force scholarship. I graduated in 2005, and have been practicing dental hygiene ever since. I am also licensed to administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide. I have a passion for teaching my patients the best ways to achieve healthy oral hygiene.
I have been married for 20 years; we have two children. Our daughter is a student at UCF in Florida and our son is in high school. Between horse shows and sports, we stay very busy all year long. I love our two cats and our five-year-old big baby, black lab. I love to craft, take naps, and watch Netflix.
Cherri – Hygienist
I graduated from Plainwell High School and KVCC Dental Hygiene Program with an Associates in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. I have been working in the Kalamazoo/Portage area for many years.
I grew up in the Plainwell area and live there currently. I have three children: one son and two daughters. Spring and summer are my favorite times of the year. I love the outdoors, going on boat rides, relaxing on the beach, collecting beach glass and Petosky stones, and planting flowers.
I’m excited to be here at White Oaks Dental, to meet new people, and to continue to gain new knowledge about dental technology to pass on to all my patients.
Cathy- Hygienist
I started working at a dental office with no experience except as a patient. I loved it from the start and knew I wanted it as my career. I put myself through school and have never regretted it. I love helping my patients achieve their absolute best oral health and have made some wonderful friends along the way.
In my personal life I take care of my fur babies, 2 horses and 3 cats, as well as my husband of 20 years. We keep busy with landscaping home improvements with a little camping and trail riding and some winter traveling here and there.

Michelle- Dental Assistant
I have been a Dental Assistant for eight years. I love meeting and taking care of our patients. I am always excited to learn new dental techniques that improve the care of our patients.
My hobbies include lake life, camping, gardening, shopping, and spending time at home with my family and pets.
Amanda – Dental Assistant
My name is Amanda and I’m one of the assistants here at White Oaks Dental. I have 6 years in the field, and I hope to live out my dental career here with you!
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my family the most. My fiancé (Bobby), bonus daughter (Mackenzie), son (Jake) and Rottweiler (Dave) are my whole world! When we’re all together, we love camping, off-roading in our ORV, and cruising the lake, and each of us plays a very special role in the function and success of our brand-new business, ArcTech Design and Fabrication!
The BEST part of my job is interacting with my patients, and I take so much pride in making them feel at home and comfortable.

Nicole – Clinical Manager
My passion for helping people began long before I graduated high school. In my junior year, a freak accident turned into a blessing in disguise when I fell on the balance beam during a gymnastics competition and broke multiple teeth causing many extensive dental visits…. I never thought at that time it would instantly spark my love for the dental field!
In 2005 I was dual-enrolled at KVCC during my senior year of high school for dental assisting. After graduating and spending a few years working chair-side, I went back to KVCC to obtain my degree in dental hygiene. Unfortunately, after graduation, I developed carpel tunnel and surgery prevented me from working clinically as a hygienist. I knew my passion was to help patients and knew that this is where I wanted my career to be. One day I would love to go back to school to achieve the ultimate goal of becoming a dentist.
I love my family and three absolutely amazing children (Caitlin, Kolten, and Konner) who are my entire world and my entire reason for everything I do.
Our Front Office Team
Carey – Office Manager
I will be one of the smiling faces that greet you when you walk in the door. I absolutely love working with the public. My goal is to make your experience in our office the best it can be.
My husband and I enjoy spending time gardening, going to the beach to watch sunsets, rooting for UofM football, watching Nascar races, taking spontaneous trips, and checking out new restaurants with friends and family. I also enjoy quilting, swimming, and relaxing in my hammock with a great book.
Jen – Insurance Coordinator
After working in a dental office as a co-op student in high school, I fell in love with the dental field. I completed the Washtenaw Community College dental assistant program and served as a clinical assistant for 20+ years. My clinical duties started merging into administrative training over time, so I completed numerous business and insurance coding courses. I discovered that I really enjoy the challenge insurance billing presents and have been a biller for the last 10 years. My goal is to help our patients utilize their benefits to their fullest extent and to make dentistry as affordable as possible for everyone.
I have two adult children and belong to a Paranormal Investigation team. I enjoy traveling, visiting exciting new locations, being out in nature, and rock hunting

I’ve been in many areas of dental for over 10 years and love it.
