Crowns Kalamazoo

Dental Crowns and Same-Day Crowns

Decay, discoloration, and damage are just a few dental situations that can result in the need for crowns. When it comes to these issues and alterations, you need long-term solutions. Our dentists want to make sure that whatever treatment you choose, it is the best choice for your dental care. There are many options when repairing your smile, such as lab-fabricated gold or in-house ceramics. We are happy to offer same-day crown solutions, where you will walk out of our office in just one visit with a crown on your tooth.

CEREC Crowns

CEREC crowns are made by a special 3D CAD/CAM (computer-assisted design/manufacturing) machine that we have in the office, allowing us to make a crown on the same day you visit. It may be surprising, but this allows our dentists to make a crown in just a few minutes. No more gooey impressions; we scan your mouth with a digital camera, design your crown on our software, and then it is sculpted from porcelain by a digital milling machine. You can run an errand while you wait!

Composite Tooth Fillings

Composite, white fillings, or tooth-colored fillings, are a mixture of glasses and plastics that replace decayed tooth structure. With advances in technology, they are now very durable and resistant to fractures. Such fillings can withstand moderate pressure from chewing, and our dentists use these on front and back teeth.

Root Canals, Root-Canal Therapy, and Endodontic Dental Care

In order to save your natural tooth, a root canal may be necessary once the pulp layer (i.e., tissue in the center of teeth) becomes infected. Root-canal therapy removes dead tissue from within the center of the tooth and reinforces the internal structure with a filling material.

Root-canal therapy is also known as endodontic therapy, which is a dental treatment for removing infection from inside a tooth. Endodontic root therapy can protect the tooth from future infections, and help restore the pulp of the tooth, known as the root canal.

Oral Surgery, Extractions, and Wisdom Teeth Removal

Oral surgery means more than removing your wisdom teeth, in some cases. Our dentists can make a detailed plan for your smile, sometimes requiring oral surgery. White Oaks Dental will first discuss your options to save your tooth, but should oral surgery be required, our dentists are able to treat you with a variety of options, including surgery and aesthetic or reconstructive options.

Removing your wisdom teeth, in many cases, is imperative, as there is rarely enough room for these back teeth to fully erupt. The removal of these “third molars” will reduce the risk of decay, infection, and overcrowding. We always discuss this on a case by case basis with our patients.
